Abstract

This study was conducted in order to define the influence of proportions of rice husk in different substrates on the quality of tomato seedlings. The experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design with four replications. The 20 treatments were arranged in a 4x5 factorial scheme, being the first factor consisted of four substrates (PlantHort I, PlantHort II, PlantHort III and Bioplant®) and the second consisting of five proportions  carbonized rice husk - CAC (0, 25, 50, 75 e 100%). The plants were evaluated 24 days after sowing. The best quality indices of tomato seedlings were obtained with addition of 24, 25, 26 and 38% of CAC in the substrates PlantHort I, PlantHort II, PlantHort III and Bioplant®, respectively. The substrate PlantHort I conditions with higher quality tomato seedlings in relation to other substrates in all proportions of rice husk used.
