Abstract

This work aimed at analyzing the effects of the application of pig slurry in leaching of nitrogen in the soil and biomass production of corn. Two experiments were conducted, one in Oxisol and the other in Ultisol. Both were packed in vase PVC and fertilized with pig slurry submitted to three different treatments: digester, stabilized for 120 days and slurry untreated, all applied in doses of 60 and 150 m³ ha-1. It was adopted the completely randomized experimental design with six treatments, a witness and four replications. The following parameters were evaluated: concentration of nitrate and ammonium in soil layers of 20, 40 and 60 cm and biomass and concentration of nutrients in corn shoot. It was verified leaching of nitrate only at doses of 60 and 150 m3 ha-1 of untreated slurry and 150 m3 ha-1 of pre-stabilized slurry. The biomass and the concentration of nutrients in corn have increased according the amount
of nutrients added to the soil, except for calcium. The biggest production of biomass occurred in doses of 150 and 60 m³ ha-1 slurry untreated and 150 m³ ha-1, pre-stabilized slurry respectively.
