Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate natural nodulation in legumes by native strains of Savanna’s soil from Piauí State. The capacity of nodulation was observed in Vigna unguiculata, Leucaena leucocephala, Albizia sp. and Cenostigma macrophyllum sowed in Savanna’s soils under different managements: Eucalyptus sowed in 2006 (E6); Eucalyptus sowed in 2007 (E7); Conventional tillage with rice (AR); native vegetation (MN) and native vegetation burned (AQ). Nodulation was evaluated at 40, 80, 90 and 90 days after plant emergence to Vigna unguiculata, Leucaena leucocephala, Albizia sp. and Cenostigma macrophyllum, respectively. V. unguiculata shows natural nodulation in soil of evaluated areas. L. leucocephala and Albizia sp. showed natural nodulation in soil of E6 and AR. While C. macrophyllum didn’t show natural nodulation.
