Seed protector, inoculation and pesticides in the physiological quality of wheat

Abstract

For to ensure the correct plant emergence, in order to promote uniformity and faster germination, a series of biological and chemical products have been used on the seed treatment. The objective of this work was to evaluate the influence and interaction between seed protector, inoculation and pesticides aiming at preserving the physiological quality of wheat. The wheat cultivar used was the TBIO Sinuelo. We adopted the completely randomized design with eight replicates. The treatments consisted in the combination of the use of insecticide, fungicide, seed protector and inoculant. The variables that express germination and morphology of seedlings, emerged under laboratory and soil conditions, were evaluated. In the treatments with seed protector, germination was reduced by 62%. The use of insecticide increases phytotechnical parameters by the length of seedlings. The addition of any type of product on the seeds, biological or synthetic, reduces its physiological quality. For the experimental conditions the seed protector is incompatible with phytosanitary treatment of seeds and reduces the germination and vigor of the wheat TBIO Sinuelo. The use of insecticide can provide the seedlings with greater length and mass of their structures and use of fungicide confers greater emergency in soil.
