Abstract

The aim of this work was to assess the spatial distribution of the incidence of stem-bleeding disease and red-ring disease in coconut palm tree plantations, and to study the relationship between these diseases. The incidence of diseases was quantified individually. Analysis were adjustment of semivariograms isotropic and interpolation of data by ordinary kriging and was made of three-dimensional maps. It applied the Pearson correlation between diseases. The isotropic exponential model was to adjust the incidence of red-ring disease and stem-bleeding, with ranges of 20 and 11 m, respectively. It was moderate spatial dependence and aggregate for the red-ring disease. Strong spatial dependence on the incidence of stem-bleeding distribution was observed. There was positive significant effect (P < 0.01) for the correlation between the incidence of diseases. The incidence of red-ring disease and stem-bleeding in plantations of coconut presented spatial distribution pattern of an aggregate type and was correlated between stem-bleeding and red-ring diseases.
