Abstract

The objective of this study was to evaluate the greenhouse gases emissions of an agricultural tractor with diesel engine using mixtures of soybean biodiesel and diesel in the tractor /harrow performing the operation of tillage. The experiment was mounted in randomized block design distributed in split plot with three replications, where the plots were assigned mixtures of biodiesel and diesel (B5, B10, B25, B50, B75 and B100) and subplots depths of operation harrow (0.11, 0.13, 0.16, 0.18 m). The emissions of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, oxygen, nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides were determined in this study. The results show that the use of biodiesel reduced emissions of carbon monoxide and oxides of sulfur, the main greenhouse gases.
