Abstract

The objective of this study was to evaluate the chemical control of Digitaria insularis adult plants in the period of autumn-winter, in an area of no-tillage system. Two experiments were carried out using randomized blocks experimental design, in a 4x3 factorial, with four replications. The experiment was developed, under field conditions. In the first experiment the studied treatments were: four doses (0, 0.72; 1.44 and 2.16 kg ha-1 of acid equivalent) of glyphosate and three (0, 30 and 60 g ha-1) of haloxyfop - methyl. In the second experiment, the treatments were: four doses (0, 0.72; 1.44 and 2.16 kg ha-1 of acid equivalent) of glyphosate and three (0, 184 and 368 g ha-1), of sethoxydim. The results showed that the control of Digitaria insularis was unsatisfactory for all combinations of glyphosate, don’t reaching 50% of efficiency. The addition of methyl haloxyfop or sethoxydim to glyphosate did not contribute to the control of the weed. In larger doses of glyphosate, there was synergistic effect of the mixture with sethoxydim.
