The editorial process of the Brazilian Journal of Agricultural Sciences was evaluated from its inception in 2006 until 2008. Currently the journal is indexed by various sources, of which AGRIS CAB and AGROBASE stand out. During 2006, 2007 and 2008 40, 159 and 130 articles were received. The average time of publication was 229 days. The average rate of rejection was 32.14%, and 124 articles were published from 2006 to 2008, from 18 Brazilian states, mainly in Portuguese. CAPES evaluated in the journal in the 2004-2006 triennium as Qualis C in Agricultural Sciences I and the last list published in December 2008 it has been classified as B4. The journal is fulfilling its mission and its objectives in the area of Agricultural Sciences.
