Abstract

The growth and accumulation of nutrients in ‘umbu’ (Spondias tuberosa Arr. Cam.) seedlings, fertilized with nitrogen doses, were evaluated in this experiment. The experimental design was randomized blocks, with four replications and six doses of N (0, 35, 70, 140, 280, and 560 mg dm-3). The nitrogen fertilization was parceled in four applications, using urea and ammonium sulphate. The dose of 286 mg dm-3 of N provided the highest  production of dry matter in ‘umbu’ seedlings. In the dose of highest production of dry matter the macronutrients accumulation order was: N > Ca > K >  Mg > P > S. The critical level of the N content in the leaves of the ‘umbuz’ seedlings ranged from 25.72 to 29.48 g kg-1.
